What are the benefits of joining?
1. Invitations to accredit employer’s training
EBTA Service Consultants work with employers to identify training that is likely to be suitable for accreditation by a university. The consultants’ initial reports are circulated to CoP members together with an invitation to submit expressions of interest to undertake the accreditation of the training specified. Recent opportunities have included training provided by the following:
- British Orthopaedic Association Casting Committee
- Cooperative Food Group
- Pfizer
- Royal School of Signals
- Quality Control Northwest
Many more companies and organisations are currently working through the initial stages of the EBTA process.
Examples of earlier accreditations, in the form of case studies can be found on the EBTA employers’ web site
2. Access to the CoP Workshops
CoP members have access to workshops and associated resources, including presentations given by HEIs concerning their practice in accrediting employer training.
The next Community of Practice event will take place on Tuesday 9th November 2010, further details will be available in due course.
Reports are available on the following workshops that have already been held:

How do we join?
We welcome enquiries from HEIs and other HE providers who are interested in joining the CoP.
Our preference is to hold an initial meeting with a range of colleagues in an institution that is interested in joining the CoP. There is a requirement for members to sign a Memorandum of Understanding and to provide a contact point for us to communicate with.
