EBTA for higher education providers
What is the EBTA Service?
- co-ordinated by fdf
- works with a range of Sector Skills Councils, Chambers of Commerce, unionlearn and other employer groups to promote accreditation of training and to identify relevant employers to benefit from the service
- helps employers consider the benefits for their company from the accreditation of existing training being carried out in the workplace
- provides trained EBTA Consultants to carry out a preliminary analysis of the training and identify relevant level, credit value and form of accreditation
- arranges for universities with relevant subject expertise to express interest in taking forward the accreditation
- gives guidance and support to the employer in choosing the higher education institution (HEI) partner to undertake the accreditation
- offers continuing support through to the final accreditation process with the chosen HEI
- remains available to offer support to the employer for further development of the training and/or the identifying further progression opportunities for employees who have undertaken the accreditation
Benefits to higher education providers
Experience to date has shown that engaging with employers through the accreditation of their training brings the following benefits to HEIs:
- widens access to new learners
- strengthens your employer links and engagements
- provide progression opportunities to mainstream programmes
- opens up new funding opportunities
- provides valuable staff development opportunities
- gives insights into the needs of employers
- informs curriculum development
- underpins course developments
It helps to make HEIs more demand-led.
